Our Learning
At Raffles Early Childhood Centre's, we believe every child should feel happy and confident. In the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) we provide a supportive and secure environment which enables our children to grow and flourish socially, emotionally and academically.
We nurture an enjoyment of learning through a wide range of engage and personalized activities, utilizing both the indoor and outdoor spaces we have on offer at our Raffles Early Childhood Centre's, as well as making the most of the rich learning experiences our locality provides us with.
All of this is done through a carefully planned balance of adult led and child-initiated learning, allowing children to develop core academic skills, personal qualities and a positive and confident attitude towards learning.
Early Year education is based on the Early Years Foundation Stage curriculum, which incorporates:
• Communication and Language
• Personal, Social and Emotional Development
• Physical Development
• Mathematics, Literacy, Expressive Art and Design and Understanding the World
From age 18months, our children have dedicated weekly lessons in music and sport with specialist teachers. Outdoor learning is an integral part of daily life at Raffles Early Childhood Centre's, with our children making the most of our diverse and expansive gardens.
Children have independent access to a wide range of materials and media. Each day provides a carefully planned mix of whole class, small group and individual adult-led sessions, as well as self-directed learning time which allows children to explore their own fascinations.
